PIPITONE Denise
- Missing since: September 1, 2004
- Missing from: Sicily, Italy
The police and federal prosecutor’s office are still looking for a girl who is believed to have been kidnapped by a gypsy family from Italy. On September 1, 2004, the then 4-year-old Denise PIPITONE disappeared in front of her home in Sicily, Italy. It is almost certain that the toddler was kidnapped. The girl may have been taken by a gypsy family that travels all over Europe. Denise’s mother is firmly convinced that her daughter is still alive. She believed she recognized her missing child in a video made about 6 weeks after the disappearance. The images show a girl in a group of Roma gypsies who are begging in the center of Milan. The resemblance is striking. The Italian authorities and the police take this approach very seriously and appeal to the population throughout Europe.
