
On June 2, 1997 in a wooded area in Altena-Bergfeld, Germany a young woman was found.
She had been raped, strangled and set on fire, while she was still alive. Post-mortem exams showed that the crime was committed by the father of the victim. He did all efforts to hide her identity.

It was concluded that the victim might have worn some sort of ornament, possibly a diamond-like imitation with a diameter of about 2mm. Investigators believe that the ornament was deliberately removed during the crime.
