
On April 30, 1997, the lifeless body of a man was found in the vicinity of Amsterdam Sloterdijk station. A crime is out of the question, but his identity is unknown to this date. The cold case team of the Amsterdam police unit is once again trying to find out his identity in order to inform relatives of his death.
A black and white photo of a woman was found. On the back of that photo is a Russian text, which, translated reads: “In memory of your Maroesja. Do not forget me and you will be loved forever. 11/8/43”

- Personal Items: In one of the pockets of the jacket was an edition of the New Testament in the Russian language. The bible was covered with a folder from the resistance museum in Amsterdam. The original cover of the Bible probably had a green-blue color. In the bible was a black and white photo of a woman. On the back of that photo is a Russian text, which, translated reads: “In memory of your Maroesja. Do not forget me and you will be loved forever. 11/8/43”.
